Mindless Perpetuation...

"Wait for complete life stability before you get married."

"Two children families are the perfect size, especially if you have one boy and one girl."

"The homosexual lifestyle is normal and should be accepted or even celebrated in our culture."

"Women must work to fulfill what it means to be a true woman in our culture."

"Freedom comes from management and control of fertility."

"Sterilization is encouraged for those who have already had children."

"Contraception should be free and available to all."

"Abortion is a woman's right."

Readers of this blog should be disgusted by those statements. Our current culture is being taught to accept this nonsense, and to provide sophistic argument to support it. Men and women both rattle off these slogans of population control without giving them a second thought. People cling to these concepts as if they were sacred religion, and those who rail against this insanity are treated as blasphemers of this new found fertility goddess. The birth of this "Venus" is the death of our civilization.

Today I came across an article by Abby Johnson about the Jaffe Memo. I believe that the memo is authentic and I have no reason to doubt it. Even if the memo was forged, the listed population control concepts are proposed in other eugenic based literature. The memo lists a number of the concepts covered in the above quotes.

When I worked at Planned Parenthood, there was something that we were not allowed to talk about. If we didn’t talk about it, then maybe no one else would either. It was called the Jaffe Memo. In 1969, Planned Parenthood was asked by the government to produce some ideas to help with overpopulation. They did just that. What is in the memo as a “solution” to overpopulation is astonishing. And, I’m sorry to say, it looks like the Jaffe Memo is starting to show its face in our culture.

I encourage you to read through the article, and look over the memo. Also note that RealCatholicTV.com has produced some documentaries on the subject of population control. To list a few: "CIA : Global Warming Unmasked, the Hidden Agenda", "CIA : The Rockefeller Foundation", and "CIA : The Contraception Deception".

Month of June...

This month keep close to your own the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
O sweet Jesus, Whose overflowing charity for me is requited by so much forgetfulness, negligence and contempt, behold us prostrate before Your alter (in Your presence) eager to repair by a special act of homage the cruel indifference and injuries, to which Your loving Heart is everywhere subject.

Mindful alas! that we ourselves have had a share in such great indignities, which we now deplore from the depths of our hearts, we humbly ask Your pardon and declare our readiness to atone by voluntary expiation not only for our own personal offenses, but also for the sins of those, who, straying for from the path of salvation, refuse in their obstinate infidelity to follow You, their Shepherd and Leader, or, renouncing the vows of their baptism, have cast off the sweet yoke of Your Law. We are now resolved to expiate each and every deplorable outrage committed against You; we are determined to make amends for the manifold offenses against Christian modesty in unbecoming dress and behavior, for all the foul seductions laid to ensnare the feet of the innocent, for the frequent violations of Sundays and holidays, and the shocking blasphemies uttered against You and Your Saints. We wish also to make amends for the insults to which Your Vicar on earth and Your priest are subjected, for the profanation, by conscious neglect or terrible acts of sacrilege, of the very Sacrament of Your Divine Love; and lastly for the public crimes of nations who resist the rights and teaching authority of the Church which You have founded. Would, O divine Jesus, we were able to wash away such abominations with our blood. We now offer, in reparation for these violations of Your divine honor, the satisfaction You once made to Your eternal Father on the cross and which You continue to renews daily on our altars; we offer it in union with the acts of atonement of Your Virgin Mother and all the Saints and of the pious faithful on earth; and we sincerely promise to make recompense, as far as we can with the help of Your grace, for all neglect of Your great love and for the sins we and others have committed in the past. Henceforth we will live a life of unwavering faith, of purity of conduct, of perfect observance of the precepts of the gospel and especially that of charity. We promise to the best of our power to prevent other from offending You and to bring as many as possible to follow You.

O loving Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our model in reparation, deign to receive the voluntary offering we make of this act of expiation; and by the crowing gift of perseverance keep us faithful unto death in our duty and the allegiance we owe to You, so that we may one day come to that happy home, where You with the Father and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, God, world without end. Amen.

CIA: The Rockefellers

RCTV brings us a new CIA program on the Rockefeller Foundation.

The Rockefeller Foundation is actively undermining the Catholic Church and in the process attempting to erase man’s natural orientation to the eternal.
Topics discussed span from Eugenics, Birth Control, Immigration, Climate Change, and Infiltration into Catholic universities in America.

Please watch this half hour video titled: "CIA: The Rockefeller Foundation." The script for the video is also availible [PDF].

Kneeling at Communion Revisited...

In the past we posted about kneeling during Mass. There is a nice reminder from RealCatholicTV.com's Vortex today on kneeling at Communion, and receiving on the tongue instead of the hand. Some other videos are also provided by Cardinal Francis Arinze and Bishop Athanasius Schneider that pertain to the subject. Lets not exclude the document from the Congregation for Divine Worship on "certain matters to be observed or to be avoided regarding the Most Holy Eucharist."

We are not Taliban Catholics...

John Allen,

We are not Taliban Catholics. Your comments and defense of your use of the term should be examined. Stop embracing the noxious mentality of the National Catholic Reporter, and do something constructive with your writing ability.

Jimmy Akin writes:

...

Allen then recounts how he was politely taken to task by a member of the audience he was addressing and offers two defenses of his use of the term "Taliban Catholicism."

First, he says that he uses the terms "Catholic Lite" and "Taliban Catholicism" not to describe specific people but states of mind. Second, he says that he doesn't use them to refer to the left or right portions of the theological/political/whatever spectrum and that both exist on both sides of the spectrum.

These are pretty weak excuses to my mind.

Unless one has the linguistic bullheadedness of Humpty Dumpty, it should be recognized that words do not just have stipulative definitions where you get to use them the way you want to, with no thought to the real-world consequences.

...

But there’s an even more fundamental problem.

There is just no parity whatsoever between Weigel's term "Catholic Lite" (incorporating a reference to low-calorie food products) and Allen's own "Taliban Catholicism" (incorporating a reference to murderous thugs with whom we are at war).

It is as if Allen had used the phrase "Al-Qa'eda Catholicism" or "Nazi Catholicism."

Now matter how many Humpty Dumpty games you play with these terms, they are just going to generate more heat than light.

Allen is smart enough to know that.

Lord open my lips...

...So that my mouth may proclaim your praises.

The Apostle does not preach Christianity 'a la carte,' according to his own tastes, he does not preach a Gospel according to his own preferred theological ideas; he does not take away from the commitment to announce the entire will of God, even when uncomfortable, nor the themes he may least like personally. -Pope Benedict XVI

The preceding quote was given last week at an annual talk given by the Pope to his priests. The Holy Father said, "...priests must not water down the faith because people are made uncomfortable by it."

The Holy Father also went on to say:
In a world where people are curious to know everything, so much more should we be curious to know the will of God. what thing could be more interesting, more important, more essential for us than to know what God wants, to know the will of God, the face of God?

This message to priests is also relevant to the rest of the faithful. LifeSiteNews and Courageous Priest have more information on the Holy Father's talk.

Hope filled thoughts...

Last week we posted a RCTV video about Cardinal Burke's comments on Catholics loosing their Faith by making themselves the center of the Mass.

This weeks RCTV episode goes on to discuss the highly anticipated follow up document to Pope Benedict XVI's 2007 Motu Proprio. The video embed below provides some hope filled thoughts on possible expectations:

Economic Consideration...

Anyone who has read this blog in the past understands that our typical view on the world's economy is dreary. RCTV has recently posted a video on the subject:

While Mr. Voris may mention a tinge of keynesian economics in the video to support his premise, his overall point is sound, and should be taken into strong consideration.

Back in September of 2010 we posted a link to a video titled: "Cost of Abortion." As was noted in the above embedded Vortex episode some generous individuals have donated funds to RCTV in order to promote the "Cost of Abortion" video to the US House of Representatives, the US Senators, and the Canadian Parliament.

RCTV has links on their website on how you can also contact these officials to send them online links to the video. Please do this.

Two types of people...

Two types of people will watch this video. The first are those who find the video deplorable and can't see past the hair style and mannerisms. The second are those who are Catholic and hear the Truth for what it is. Which group do you fall under?

What is the Catholic Church?

Be perfect, as your Father in Heaven is perfect.

Those of you who wish to mock and complain about Holy Mother Church and her teachings, should reconsider.

What gifts can we present to our Lord? Christ longs for our salvation, a simple gift is our cooperation with His grace.

Cowards be damned

Apocalypse 21:8:
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, they shall have their portion in the pool burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

December 6th: St. Nicholas

Recently RCTV posted a Vortex video that shows St. Nicholas punching Arius in the face. I wanted to take the opportunity to share another picture of the event.

Above is a painting of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicea. Notice St. Nick on the left, Arius cowering on the right, and Constantine leisurely observing the incident from his throne.

Man up...

The etymology of the word virtue essentially is tied to the Latin word for manliness. The seven cardinal virtues are divided into two groups, Theological (Faith, Hope and Charity) and Moral (Justice, Prudence, Temperance, Fortitude). Over the past few days the Vortex has been covering the Moral Virtues. All of the videos have been insightful, but I was particularly urged to write after watching today's video on Fortitude.

[F]ortitude removes from the will those obstacles arising from the difficulties of doing what reason requires. Hence fortitude, which implies a certain moral strength and courage, is the virtue by which one meets and sustains dangers and difficulties, even death itself, and in never through fear of these deterred from the pursuit of good which reason dictates. The virtues annexed to fortitude are:
  • Patience, which disposes us to bear present evils with equanimity; for as the brave man is one who represses those fears which make him shrink from meeting dangers which reason dictates he should encounter, so also the patient man is one who endures present evils in such a way as not to be inordinately cast down by them.
  • Munificence, which disposes one to incur great expenses for the suitable doing of a great work. It differs from mere liberality, as it has reference not to ordinary expenses and donations, but to those that are great. Hence the munificent man is one who gives with royal generosity, who does things not on a cheap but magnificent scale, always, however, in accordance with right reason.
  • Magnanimity, which implies a reaching out of the soul to great things, is the virtue which regulates man with regard to honours. The magnanimous man aims at great works in every line of virtue, making it his purpose to do things worthy of great honour. Nor is magnanimity incompatible with true humility. "Magnanimity", says St. Thomas, "makes a man deem himself worthy of great honours in consideration of the Divine gifts he possesses; whilst humility makes him think little of himself in consideration of his own short-comings".
  • Perseverance, the virtue which disposes to continuance in the accomplishment of good works in spite of the difficulties attendant upon them. As a moral virtue it is not to be taken precisely for what is designated as final perseverance, that special gift of the predestined by which one is found in the state of grace at the moment of death. It is used here to designate that virtue which disposes one to continuance in any virtuous work whatsoever.

Gentlemen (and ladies) you must persevere and you must endure. "Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you."

Theology leads to healthy psychology

Whatever ends... can be lived through.

[...]

Theology, properly understood and lived, leads to healthy psychology and then eternal happiness.

What does Theology have to do with Psychology? Watch today's Vortex for some comments on that question:
